Similarly, concomitant use of nitrates (including recreational nitrates known as “poppers”) with tadalafil also is contraindicated.

What You Need to Know:

See your doctor immediately if this happens. May not be suitable for some people including those with angina, chest pain, other heart conditions, liver or kidney problems, blood or bleeding disorders, stomach ulcers, certain eye conditions, or a physical deformity of the penis (such as Peyronie's disease). May interact with some medications including nitrates - the use of tadalafil and nitrates is contraindicated because of the severe hypotension that can develop. May also interact with other medications including ketoconazole or ritonavir; dosage adjustment is recommended. The dosage of tadalafil may need to be reduced in men with kidney disease.

Erectile dysfunction

Once-daily use may not be recommended in men with severe kidney disease. Only use for 26 weeks when given with finasteride to initiate BPH treatment, because the benefit of Tadalafil tablets decreases from 4 weeks until 26 weeks, and benefits beyond 26 weeks are unknown A lower dosage of tadalafil is recommended in men with mild-to-moderate liver disease. Tadalafil should be avoided with severe liver disease. Note: In general, seniors or children, people with certain medical conditions (such as liver or kidney problems, heart disease, diabetes, seizures) or people who take other medications are more at risk of developing a wider range of side effects. Tadalafil is a PDE-5 inhibitor that increases blood flow by relaxing smooth muscle, and is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men.

Cialis Strengths

Available as a daily low-dose tablet (2.5–5 mg) or an "as-needed" 10 mg tablet lasting up to 36 hours; a chewable formulation also exists. Common side effects include headache, flushing, and dyspepsia. Dose adjustment needed in kidney or liver disease. Once-daily tadalafil can be taken without regard to sexual activity but should be taken at the same time every day (for example, on awakening). Tadalafil may be taken with or without food. For life-threatening situations, nitrates may be considered if at least 48 hours have passed since the last dose of tadalafil and if close hemodynamic monitoring is available. Tadalafil will lower blood pressure an additional 4 to 10 mm Hg when used with antihypertensive drugs. Dosage should be limited to 10 mg within a 72-hour period when patients are also taking drugs such as erythromycin, ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), protease inhibitors, and other drugs that inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme system.1 Patients with cardiovascular diseases have been excluded from studies of tadalafil because so little is known about its safety profile in this population.1 The current recommendation for patients who experience coital angina after taking a PDE5 inhibitor is to contact emergency services that provide transport to a hospital.2 Rare reports of priapism have been reported with all of the drugs in this class.1 Long-term safety has not been established.

Because of tadalafil’s long duration of action, patients are exposed to its effects for a longer period of time than with sildenafil or vardenafil.3,4 The most common dose-related side effects of tadalafil are headache (11 to 15 percent) and dyspepsia (8 to 10 percent).

Back pain, beginning 12 to 24 hours after the dose and lasting for up to 48 hours, was reported in 5 to 6 percent of men, as compared with a rate of 3 percent in men receiving placebo.

If you are prescribed the chewable tadalafil Chewtadzy, chew the tablet completely before swallowing. Chewtadzy may be taken with or without food or with or without water. Drinking alcohol after taking tadalafil may lower blood pressure and decrease sexual performance. Eating grapefruit or grapefruit products while taking tadalafil is not recommended. Always talk to your doctor before taking ANY medication for ED.

As-Needed Dosage

Some ED medications are not suitable for men with certain medical conditions. Call your doctor immediately if you experience dizziness, feel nauseous during sexual activity, or develop pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw. Do not take tadalafil if you are also taking a nitrate drug (such as nitroglycerin or isosorbide dinitrate/mononitrate) for chest pain or heart problems. Do not take tadalafil with recreational drugs such as "poppers". Taking these substances together can cause a sudden and dangerous drop in blood pressure.

Efficacy and treatment satisfaction with on-demand tadalafil (Cialis) in men with erectile dysfunction

Always buy your ED medications from a reputable supplier as there are a lot of counterfeit products in circulation. Certain lifestyle and psychological factors, such as smoking, drinking, and stress, can exacerbate ED.
